Athidhi BGM - Mani Sharma

Mani Sharma's latest offering for Mahesh Babu's flick. Mani gave great music.

Out of 2.5 hr movie, the background score itself is running around 1 1/2 hour which you can download below. It took nearly 10 days for me to extract/edit/clean/cut the tracks. Painful, but enjoyable :). This was the longest score I have ever recorded in my life from a DVD.

I felt that it has become excess compared to his previous hits Athadu and Pokiri. Every single seen was mixed up with some score in this film. Some audience might get bored of this too much intervention while watching the film.

He lifted couple of themes in this score. The main theme of Athidhi is nothing but the first line of TITANIC theme. You can identify it very easily. Also somewhere in the climax fight he copied A.R.Rahman's "The Warriers of Heaven and Earth" drum beats.

Though he lifted TITANIC theme, he limited it only to it's first line, after which he added it up with his own flavour and made it so sweet with various instruments at various places.
I feel that he should have remained original. :(

In an interview, Mahesh Babu told that Mani was asked to re-score the entire film because the first re-recording didn't come out well and the director/producer asked him to re-do it again entirely. This could be the main reason why he has scored for each and every frame.

Whatever, Mani has given fantastic score for this film as usual he does for Mahesh's. Especially for the scenes with Villans ( Murali Sharma (Kaizer) and Ashish Vidhyarthi).

Download and enjoy the 1 and half hrs of nonstop background score here.
